About Me
Salem! I'm a Research Fellow at the Italian National Research Council (ISTC CNR), working at the intersection of AI and robotics. My focus is on deploying autonomous drones for open-field missions in agriculture, with an emphasis on real-time mapping, navigation, and information-driven planning.
Previously, I was an AI Engineer at Botshelf.ai, where I built document understanding pipelines by combining OCR, layout analysis, and large language models. I also worked on robotic manipulation and perception using the UR10 arm and RBGD camera during my time at Nazarbayev University.
I hold an MSc in Artificial Intelligence and Robotics from Sapienza University of Rome, and a BSc in Robotics and Mechatronics from Nazarbayev University.
My research interests include autonomous aerial systems, task-driven perception (RGB, LIDAR), and the integration of AI into complex robotic workflows. For collaborations or just a chat, reach out at bota[DOT]duisenbay[AT]gmail[DOT]com.
